About
What this is
Alternative Investments is an independent research and tools platform I built because the data problems in private markets don't get solved by off-the-shelf products. Peer cohort valuation, fund benchmarking, covenant analytics, portfolio construction, all require original frameworks and the engineering to run them at scale.
This is where I build and publish that work openly.
What I actually do
Twenty-five years in NYC finance has taught me one thing: the hard problems in financial systems are never technical at their core. They're constraint problems in regulatory posture, LP–GP incentive misalignment, control planes not built for agentic AI, covenant drift quietly compounding across fund life.
I find those constraints before anyone touches a line of code. Then I build what's actually solvable.
My deeper intellectual home is Private Markets. I think about credit risk, deal structure, and portfolio construction geometrically and computationally. And I'm building frameworks and Agentic AI workflows to operationalize them. AI *strictly* where it makes sense.
Speaking
I speak at industry conferences and practitioner events in the Alternative Investments domain, private markets data infrastructure, and the intersection of AI architecture with regulatory constraint. Recent and upcoming appearances:
- Agentic AI in alternative investments — AWS & Grid Dynamics Workshop 2026
- Private credit covenant risk and LME structures — NYU Stern Credit Opportunities Symposium 2026
- AI in alternative investments — Harvard Club Executive Event (co-hosted with AWS) 2025
- Open Source in Finance Forum 2025
